What a day it has been. It continues to be in the 90's and high humidity. I guess I can't complain since the whole country is hot.
Yesterday a boat we did not know left the dock next to us to go get a pump out. Half hour at the most. Apparently it was a new purchase by a Japanese guy. He had an experienced captain on board. They got out a ways and something broke and they lost control of the boat. The captain managed to steer it into the dock and hit it and stop the boat. This was a 65 foot boat. Big. So glad he just missed Dr. Mike's boat. (He has had a terrible year especially with his boat.) Nobody hurt and minimal damage. Tow Boat US came out. Yeah!
Then during the night last night a boat caught fire. Luckily one of the security guards saw it and called the fire department. They were able to put it out but it is a wreck. They said a battery started it. Nobody on board so nobody got hurt.
Now our ac is not working right so we will get a guy out tomorrow to look at it.
It's not all fun and games.
Trying to stay cool in North Carolina.

Not a whole lot going on here except parties. Fourth of July was fun with our friends Ralph and Linda and their yacht club. We had a good time but our dog did not. Abby has a fear of loud noises especially fireworks. We gave her drugs and put her thunder jacket on her but that did not help. She spent the night in the head in the aft cabin, shaking and panting. More drugs next time maybe.
I have found a very nice yoga group. We have decided to go shoot golf balls once a week at our favorite golf course. We both feel that it is helping our swings a little and we may be ready to play a round soon.
We keep changing our minds about what we want to do next. Go back to the keys in November or stay here and find jobs and complete the loop next spring and summer are some of the options. We have a couple months yet to make up our minds. We keep hearing that the trip thru Canada is the most beautiful part of the trip but we shall see.
We have connected with some of Dick's family which has been very fun. His niece and husband and 3 kids came on the boat last weekend. It was so fun to show the kids around. They were awed and amazed. So easy to impress little kids.
They will all be here this coming weekend. We are looking forward to having the whole family here and take the boat out for a spin.

Yea! Was able to have lunch with my "baby boy" who will be turning a whopping 40 years old in November.
I am back in North Carolina again. Spent one night in West Virginia on the drive down and woke to thunderstorms. We grabbed the opportunity between storms to get out of "Dodge" and lucky we did since the flooding followed later that day and the next.
My friend Kimba drove with me and stayed a few days so we could celebrate our birthday together since we have the same birthday (different year). My sweetie Dick, took us out for dinner. We also took the opportunity to explore the area a little since we now have a car to use. We went to Oriental, N. C. Cute little town with many marinas but not a lot else. We did see a black snake eating an eel. We also drove up to Cedar Island, N. C. and took the ferry to Ocracoke Is. Did not take the car so it only cost us $1.00 each per each way. Quite the deal for a two and a quarter hour boat ride. Very fun little town and island. We ended up renting bikes to get around and rode them to the ocean. Went swimming in the Atlantic which was very fun on that very hot day. Went out for dinner and bought t shirts. All the tourist things. Then another 2 plus hour boat ride back. Our return trip left at 9 pm and the drive back to New Bern was almost 2 hours. So we got back after 1am and Kim's flight was scheduled to leave at 6am.
I am now at Ralph and Linda's house....looper friends. Dick helped Ralph get his boat back to his house. They keep their boat at their dock in front of their house. The dogs are having a great time and so are we.
