Dream Catchers Dream

Well, lots has happened.  We keep meeting people who are getting ready to start the loop or are just completing the loop or wish they were doing the loop.  By the way, for those not familiar with the loop.... it is the great loop and it is essentially the great lakes, then down through Chicago and over to the Mississippi and south to the Ohio river, the Tennessee, the Tom Bigby, and on down to the gulf.  Then around Florida or across Florida then up the east coast on the inner coastal waterways, up through Marilyn, New York, and around a couple different ways and eventually back to the great lakes.  There is a Web site....aglca.Com  if you want more info.
Meanwhile, we went to Fish Creek, Ws for a night then back to Sturgeon Bay.  On the way Dick discovered a loud noise in the aft cabin.  We decided to put in at Egg Harbor and look.  After Dick went thru the whole engine and made sure everything was OK he found a small piece of wood under a peek area of the aft cabin head.  Apparently that is all it was.  We went on to Sturgeon Bay without further incident.  Had a great evening there.  Woke to a beautiful sunny morning.  Made it to the 8:30 bridge opening all the while listening to the radio telling us a freighter was coming thru the Sturgeon Bay channel from Lake Michigan.  We decided to wait till he got thru this very narrow channel.  Took him over an hour at 2 knots to clear the channel.  We hovered a long time.  But then we got on the big lake to find very thick fog.  Luckily we have very good electronics.  Dick compared it to an instrument landing in his air

plane.  We decided since the waves were not very big that we would go on to Kewaunee.  The fog remained with us the whole time.  A little tricky getting thru the channel.  Good thing for fog horns.  We never did see where the sound was coming from but it did indeed guide us into the channel.  I stood on the bow and yelled when I saw the red and white striped light house.  After that it cleared up.  You would not have known there were any problems out on the lake by the looks of the bay and river.  All is well here tonight.  They are predicting fair and clear weather for the next few days.  We welcome it.
