I had such good in tensions to blog more. But I am here now.
We spent 3 days in Elk Rapids. Met up with friends Steve and Shelli who are just finishing the loop. What fun to see them and hear about life on the river and the ocean.
Some other friends caught up with us...Bruce and Ellen Keener. They have helped me with getting cds on the I pod. All this electronic stuff is a bit overwhelming at times.
We took a small jaunt up to Petoskey and are kind of stuck here for awhile. My closing of my house should happen in the morning (Wed). They will send someone out for signatures and that should be that. Can't wait for it to be all over. Everything has actually worked out very well.
We continue to meet wonderful people who see our "looper" flag and come over to talk. Hello to Captain Joe who is single handing it around the loop. Hope to meet up with him again around Chicago as we start down the rivers.
For now we are hoping for "calm winds and following seas".
We plan to head out tomorrow for Beaver Island. The next day to Wisconsin . We are shooting for Egg Harbor, WS by Friday to catch up with our mail. We want time to play in Door county a little while before heading south. More to come....Pat
Pat, thanks for the post. Since you are stuck in Petoskey check out the Perry Hotel. Ellen and I have stayed there many times. The City Park Grill one block east of the hotel is a good eating spot with entertainment on the weekends. Hope you have smooth sailing.
