All I can say is watch out for towheads. That is the edge of an island that extends out into the water and often times extends out under the water. So best be mindful of the tow head so you don't run aground. There are many "towheads" in the Tennessee river since a lot of the river was formed when the TVA dammed up the Tennessee river. On the other hand towheads are often a good place to duck behind and anchor for the night. Just have to be careful of the depth.
Two nights ago we were at a tiny marina called Clifton. They could barely accommodate us but we made it work. Last night we spent at Pickwick state park marina. Very nice.
We passed by "Shiloh National Park" the scene of one of the bloodiest 2 days of the civil war. We will take a tour of it on our way back from our Looper gathering next week. We plan to stay here one more day cause there is a golf course across the street. We will need to be at Joe Wheeler state park in 2 days. That is General Joe Wheeler. We are steeped in history right here.

This is the house where General U.S. Grant was having breakfast the morning of April 6, 1862 when he hear cannon fire that marked the start of the battle of Shiloh.
